Anjuman-I-Islam is the premier educational conglomerate and social organization of India, established in the year 1874, by a group of visionaries led by Justice Badruddin Tyabji. Anjuman has a distinguished record of dedication and perseverance for the cause of education. More than 100 Institutions are growing under the magnificent umbrella of Anjuman.  It has outgrown the size of a University with more than lakh students on the roll of its various Institutions. Though it is India’s largest minority educational establishment, its doors are open to all faiths and religions. Anjuman in true sense has adopted secularism in its true form. It is a symbol national integration.  

Anjuman is proud of its tradition and has always maintained high standards of education and dedicated service to humanity. Anjuman-I-Islam is the only institution in the state of Maharashtra which has been awarded the prestigious Maharashtra Govt.'s "State Award 2000" for excellence in educational & social activities.

Today Anjuman-I-Islam runs institutions dedicated to Engineering, Hotel Management, Business Management, Medical and Polytechnic. Right from pre primary to postgraduate education is offered under its umbrella. This Institution has produced great stalwarts like Dilip Kumar, Barrister A.R.Antulay etc.

Anjuman-I-Islam believes in empowering the women in the society.  It provides various facilities to girls to keep them abreast of modern times and to help them achieve their rightful place in the society. A college of Home Science and two polytechnic institutes have been set up especially for girls. Anjuman runs 3 orphanages – 2 for the girls and one for the boys. At the orphanages the girls are groomed with the best of education and when they are of marriageable age, Anjuman takes responsibility of finding suitable match for them. The entire expense for the girls at orphanage is borne by Anjuman. Sahara Unit of Anjuman looks after well being of distressed women (rehabilitation and health care).  

Significant and influential leaders such as Badruddin Tyabji, Mr. Barrister Akbar Peerbhoy, Mr. Moinuddin Harris, Mr. A. K. Hafizka, Barrister A. R.Antulay, have shaped this glorious Institute and at present its mantle is in the hands of Dr. Zahir Kazi.

Anjuman-I-Islam is galloping ahead rapidly by adding in more and more branches of education. A state of the art Technology Park is being established at New Panvel on 11 acres of land. It will encompass institutes Viz. College for Bio-Technology, Bioinformatics, Genetic engineering, pharmacy, engineering, architecture, nursing etc. The park will also provide hostel and residential facilities for students and faculty. Anjuman-I-Islam enjoys an enormous past, a debonair present and a splendid future.
